The Ford Mustang first appeared in the marlet in 1964 and was immediately popular to the customer, for its style and its capabilities. The largest engine offering of the time was the 289 V-8 K-code small block engine which was sufficient but enthusiasts wanted and demanded more power.
The base engine was a six-cylinder power plant. The body style configurations included coupe, convertible and fastback. In its first year of production over 500,000 examples were produced.

The Roushcharger supercharger kit, which we unveiled last november here, is a roots type blower that pumps up the horsepower on a stock 4.6L 2005-2007 Ford Mustang nearly 40% thanks to 5psi of boost and an air-to-water intercooler.
Three “championship-level†2007 Ford vehicles the Ford Shelby GT500, Ford Edge and Ford F-150 FX2 Sport have been selected to pace the three Ford Championship Weekend races at Homestead-Miami Speedway, site of NASCAR’s season-ending events. Dan Davis, director of Ford Racing Technology; Curtis Gray, president of Homestead-Miami Speedway; and Matt Kenseth, the 2003 NASCAR Nextel Cup champion and a contender for this year’s title, were all on hand at the race track today to help unveil the three pace vehicles in a ceremony before open NASCAR testing at the track.

The Mustang GT made a strong showing by being named one of Car and Driver’s 10 Best for the fifth time. It went up against a field of 71 machines, and was named Best Muscle Car, a powerful statement coming from the credible staff at Car and Driver magazine. The Mustang GT flexed it’s muscle during the week long, editorial staff-wide examination, and its presence was felt.
