It’s been a long three decades since the original Mach 1 Mustang roamed the streets, but ask anyone who’s ever seen this car and they’ll describe it as if it were sitting right in front of them. For 2003, the Ford Mustang Mach 1 is in action, this time as part of Ford’s “Living Legends” lineup. The idea is simple: take some of the most memorable Ford vehicles of the past and recreate them for modern-day consumption. Maintain the style and performance that made each particular model a legend, but do it in a way that not only pays homage to the original but improves upon it as well.

It’s amazing how a few simple changes can transform one’s perception of a car. A regular Mustang GT is nice enough, but you can hardly say it’s cool. Unless, that is, you’re sitting inside a Bullitt edition GT. The Ford Mustang debuted in April of 1964 and became a national sensation. By the late 1960s, the Mustang had evolved from lightweight and simple into overweight and flashy. By the time the oil crisis of 1973 hit, the Mustang had lost its edge in terms of performance and appeal. Emissions regulations had stifled performance, and the convertible model had disappeared from the lineup.

Additional features include available heated front seats, a standard auxiliary audio input jack and optional SIRIUS satellite radio. Yet another Mustang first, a DVD-based navigation system, will be available shortly after the 2007 model year launches. The Ford Mustang is one of the greatest automotive sales success stories of all time. Nearly one out of every two sports cars sold in America is a Mustang, and Mustang remains one of the hottest-selling cars in America. It’s also America’s best-selling convertible.
Steeda Autosports helped the Mustang Club of America celebrate their 30th Anniversary at the fantastic Barber Motorsports Park this past Labor Day weekend. For the past eighteen months, event director, Steve McCarley and his cadre of talented Mustang enthusiasts worked hard to create and execute an event that would attract Mustang enthusiasts from all over the world, and they were extremely successful. The Stampede with three days of open track, a cruise, car show, plus a large number of vendors was a Mustang enthusiast dream event.
