During the debut for the 2010 Ford Mustang in Santa Monica – Mark Fields – stated that Ford would soon be showing us “another chapter in the Mustang story”. Naturally this surprise will reveal itself to us during the Detroit Auto Show next month.
We are all fervently hoping that this new ‘chapter’ will be in the form of a brand new GT500. Ford has not officially announced the car or when it will make its debut – but rumors spreading on the Internet did confirm that it will be a 2010 model.
This new Shelby model will be produced with new 2010 sheet metal, 19 inch wheels, aluminum hood with a power dome, and a single functional heat extractor. Underneath the hood is a 5.4 liter V8 engine. We don’t know the exact numbers – but we do know that it will have “increased performance”.
The interior will be equipped with an optional Electronics package will provide riders with a voice activated navigational system and dual climate control. The comfortable leather seats will have a stripe with the color that will coordinate with the stripes alongside the outside of the car.
