Many of us were surprised and just a little shocked when Ford priced the Shelby GT500KR at $79,995. The fact that it was steep was a bit of understatement. Downright expensive explains it much better. The fact that it can punch out 540 horsepower and is a limited edition Shelby makes up for some of this we have to admit that we could buy at least two really nice cars for this amount.
While this price may make most of us think twice before owning it some are more than happy and willing to shell out the money without any problems. In fact there are some Mustang enthusiasts who are so desperate to get their hands one of them that they are willing to pay a few thousand dollars over the MSRP. At least the Lone Star Ford in Houston, Texas is hoping that there is someone out there willing to do this.
The dealership put up a red GT500KR up for auction on eBay Motors with a Buy It Now price of $154,991. That is almost double the original price. No one has grabbed it yet but it wouldn’t surprise us if someone snatched it up soon. As much as we love Mustangs we have to admit that we may be a bit reluctant to shell out this much for it.
