Ford Mustang 'Reviews' - Page 6

2006 Ford Mustang GTIt seems the same as it ever was, to borrow a phrase from the Talking Heads. Ford’s Mustang is a certified hit, and Chevy has announced its own version of the pony car will be on the way soon – something called a Camaro. If it weren’t for the fact that Ford just slashed production dramatically and GM is hemorrhaging jobs almost as fast as it’s losing market share, we could think we’re back in 1964, when the Mustang was first introduced as a 1965 model.

But we’re not. Back then, the Big Three could pretty much sell whatever they made. Now Toyota’s poised to become the world’s largest automaker. Back then we didn’t worry about gas prices. Now we turn our eyes away every time we pass the gas station. Back then, it was Dad doing the driving, and we were barely old enough to understand what a car was, much less how much fun one could be.

Ford Mustang GT500L - Legend SeriesTemple Performance Cars now offers a “Legend” body package that takes a late model (2005 and up) Ford Mustang and gives it a touch of timeless class. These Legend Mustangs are available in two forms: a supercharged version (Stage 1) and a naturally aspirated version (Stage 2).  Every Legend Mustang is even more unique than the rest of the herd, as each one gets a serial number and body identification tag.

2007 Ford Mustang Saleen Parnelli EditionSaleen has partnered with Parnelli Jones to produce a limited edition Mustang echoing the Jones 1970 Grabber Orange Boss 302 Race car. Due out this fall as a 2007 Ford Mustang model, it gets the same orange and black treatment as the original. ‘Shaker’ included sits atop a 302 3-valve boasting 370hp and 370 ft/lb of tourqe. The expect to only produce 500 of these special addition Mustangs priced in the mid $50,000 range.

GT500Produced by Carrol Shelby, the 2007 Shelby GT500 is one of the most hyped Ford Mustangs every produced. Produced on a phenominal chassis (Ford redesigned the chassis in 2005) with every ounce of horsepower Ford could squeeze out of an engine (and retain the full factory warrantly), this car handles and accellerates like a dream. This is the most powerful factory built Ford Mustang every produced.
