Saleen has decided to offer their 302 cubic inch V8 as a crate engine. For those who do not yet know – this engine is more than adequate to take part in the 5.0 legacy that Saleen has created. The engine comes in two different models; the naturally-aspirated and the supercharged model. The supercharged model was tested in the Saleen S302E Mustang and the naturally-aspirated was tested in the Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang.

Before there the 2004 Mustang 70% of the Mustangs that Ford sold were equipped with V6 engines. Only 30% of the vehicles were equipped with V8s. However, things changed in 2003 when Ford released their new ‘retro’ coupe – which enabled them to increase the output of V8 models.
The Mustang is ready for another makeover and spy photos have already been released(if you haven’t already seen them). We don’t know much about what to expect from the new Mustang besides what we can make out in the picture and what we can guess. We can tell you that it is planned to be released to us early in 2009, which is great because we only have to wait a year and a half for it instead of two.
